Each alkaline filter cartridge will last approximately 350+ liters of filtered water before requiring replacement. Typically 2 months of average use. Filtered water can be used for hot and cold drinks, for cooking and for washing vegetables and fruits.
Composition of alkaline jar filters:
The coarse particle prefilter stops the entry of visible particles to the filter bed
The polypropylene mesh pre filter prevents any small particles or sediment from entering the filter medium and becomes clogged
Activated carbon granules absorb chlorine and organic compounds such as benzene (if present in water)
Antioxidant balls decrease the potential for oxidation reduction (ORP). Typical tap water in the United Kingdom has an ORP of 300mV. After passing through the filter cartridge, this will generally change to -100 to -200mV. The pH of the water will generally increase from a pH of 7.5 (which is quite standard for tap water or bottled water from the United Kingdom) to between 9.0 and 9.5
Far infrared ceramic balls contain different types of natural minerals, such as tourmaline, which are known to emit far infrared energy.
The antibacterial ceramic balls prevent the growth of bacteria in the filter cartridge. They also help to capture harmful heavy metals in the water
Final polypropylene filtration prevents fine particles from passing through the filter
Each alkaline filter cartridge will last approximately 6 to 8 weeks (more than 350 liters of filtered water) before requiring replacement. If there are high levels of hardness, the cartridges may require replacement more frequently

The functions of the alkaline jar filter are very different from the standard jar filters
The Biocera alkaline jar filter is similar in appearance to the most common jar filters, but in operation it is completely different. If you filter the tap water through a common jar filter, the water after filtration will generally have a pH of 5.5 (acidic). They are designed to filter dissolved contaminants and eliminate hardness. However, when you filter the water through the alkaline jar filter, the pH will generally be of the order of 9.0 to 9.5 (alkaline). The Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP) of water will also be beneficially modified. With tap water in the United Kingdom, it is usually of the order of 150 to 300 mV (with few changes after ordinary filtration). After passing through the alkaline jar filter, this generally changes to between -100 mV and -200 mV, which is what gives the water antioxidant properties.
