Bioceramic filter

Each alkaline filter cartridge will last approximately 350+ liters of filtered water before requiring replacement. Typically 2 months of average use. The filtered water can be used for hot and cold drinks, for cooking, and for washing vegetables and fruits.

Composition of the alkaline pitcher filters:

Coarse particle pre-filter stops visible particles from entering the filter bed
Polypropylene mesh pre-filter prevents any small particles or sediment from entering the filter media and clogging
Activated charcoal granules absorb chlorine and organic compounds such as benzene (if present in water)
Antioxidant balls decrease Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP). Typical tap water in the UK has an ORP of 300mV.

After passing through the filter cartridge this will generally change to -100 to -200mV. The pH of the water will generally rise from a pH of 7.5 (which is pretty standard for tap water or UK bottled water) to between 9.0 and 9.5
Far Infrared ceramic balls contain different types of natural minerals, such as tourmaline, which are known to emit far infrared energy.

The antibacterial ceramic balls prevent the growth of bacteria in the filter cartridge. They also help capture harmful heavy metals in the water
Final polypropylene filtration prevents fine particles from passing through the filter

Each alkaline filter cartridge will last approximately 6 to 8 weeks (over 350 liters of filtered water) before requiring replacement. If there are high levels of hardness, the cartridges may require replacement more frequently

The functions of the alkaline pitcher filter are very different from standard pitcher filters

The Biocera Alkaline Pitcher Filter is similar in appearance to the most common pitcher filters, but in operation it is completely different. If you filter your tap water through a common pitcher filter, the water after filtration will generally have a pH of 5.5 (acidic). They are designed to filter out dissolved contaminants and remove harshness.

However, when you filter the water through the alkaline pitcher filter, the pH will generally be on the order of 9.0 to 9.5 (alkaline). The Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP) of water will also be beneficially modified. With tap water in the UK it is usually on the order of 150 to 300 mV (little change after ordinary filtration). After going through the alkaline pitcher filter, this generally changes to between -100 mV and -200 mV, which is what gives the water antioxidant properties.
