Briefly about the different amino acids that will be tested!
When life feels heavy and insurmountable, and you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. There is usually a deficiency of serotonin deficiency.
Our body produces L-tryptophan-5-hydroxytryptophan – serotonin – melatonin
Our body usually wants to make hormones from their original form, for example when you have trouble sleeping you should not start with melatonin but first with either L-tryptophan or 5HTP, if they do not help with a healthy diet, then you can only switch to melatonin as so called last hope.
Tryptophan
An amino acid. Tryptophan is a neuro-regulator of serotonin and melatonin precursor. Tryptophan lifts the mood and helps you fall asleep. ʟ-tryptophan (= tryptophan)
5-hydroxytryptophan
5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) (C11H12N2O3) is a naturally occurring amino acid that is the starting material for the production of serotonin and melatonin, and also a metabolic intermediate in their production from tryptophan.
5-Hydroxytryptophan is sold worldwide without a prescription in health food stores as a supplement to treat depression, reduce appetite, and as a sleeping pill.

Serotonin
Serotonin, or 5-hydroxy-tryptamine (5-HT), is a tissue hormone released from platelets and constricting blood vessels, as well as a brain neurotransmitter. 95% of the body’s serotonin is produced in the gut.
Melatonin, or N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine, is a ‘dark hormone’ that occurs naturally in the body. In the human body, it is excreted mainly from the pineal gland surrounded by the brain.

Tyrosine (C9H11NO3), or 4-hydroxyphenylalanine, is one of nature’s 20 most common amino acids. It is a white, odorless and sparingly water-soluble crystalline substance. It has a phenyl group in its side chain. The chemical name for tyrosine is 4-hydroxyphenylalanine or 2-amino-3- (4-hydroxyphenyl) propanoic acid.
For humans, tyrosine is a non-essential amino acid, meaning that the body itself can make the amino acid from phenylalanine when needed. Tyrosine is thus a derivative of phenylalanine.
Effects of tyrosine on vital functions
Tyrosine plays an important role in cellular regulation because protein kinases can phosphorylate it and thus regulate the function and activity of proteins. Biologically, it is also important because it is a precursor to thyroid hormones (thyroxine, or tetraiodothyronine and triiodothyronine), melanin (a skin colour pigment), and catecholamines (dopamine, norepinephrine, and adrenaline).

Health effects
Work-related stress is the second largest occupational health problem after musculoskeletal disorders. Positive stress is also consuming and requires a counterbalance of rest and leisure.
Long-term mental stress modifies the functioning of the body in many ways. Common changes include hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis dysfunction and congenital inflammatory condition of the body .
Prolonged stress can cause a chronic stress response in the body with many adverse effects. Among other things, it weakens the immune response, increases the risk of cardiac death and the incidence of asthma. Prolonged stress consumes energy stores, slows digestion and raises blood pressure.
Stress can also cause insomnia and sleep deprivation may increase stress symptoms. Chronic stress that lasted for many years would seem to impair memory and slow down the pace of work permanently. This may be due to the astringent effect of the stress hormone cortisol on the hippocampus.
Prolonged work-related stress is believed to have a detrimental effect on health because it leads to premature wear and tear on the body. Occupational stress may lead to an acceleration of biological aging and there are indications that premature cell aging as a result of telomere shortening would be part of this process.
Chronic occupational stress leading to fatigue has been found to correlate strongly with the shortening of telomeres of white blood cells that serve the body’s immune system in the blood, even in patients who do not suffer from depression, anxiety disorders, or alcohol abuse.
Some of the adverse health effects of long-term stress are mediated by stress-induced unhealthy behaviors such as (increased alcohol use and smoking, unhealthy diet, obesity, low night sleep, low exercise, poor compliance).
Fortunately, addictions can be helped with amino acids along with good therapy.
